The French Revolution

So, I know that we watched this before break, but after correcting the video guides... it looks like some of you need to watch the video again.  I also think that it is good review before our test. Congratulations on your completion of first semester.  Next week I will be posting a questionnaire in regards to our time together thus far.  I am hoping to use the information to improve our class, my teaching, and your experience second semester.

Help! Help! I'm Being Repressed!

Serfs lived difficult lives.  They worked long, hard days and were responsible for maintaining the lord's fields and and performing other jobs for noble families.  In addition, they had their own field and crops to look after.  Unlike this unruly peasant in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, most serfs would not dare speak to someone of higher stature in this way.  They depended on their lords and manors for survival.  However, it is hilarious and one can't help to agree with Dennis the peasant.  Enjoy!

The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization

Welcome to World Studies 8. Our first civilization that we will be studying is that of Greece. The contributions of this civilization can still be seen to this day. The first question that needs to be answered when studying any civilization is how their geography affected their history. Our first lecture will answer that question. We will be learning how to take Cornell notes during this lecture. If you miss anything do not stress. Use the links and this site to catch up on any material that you missed. As the year progresses you will become more proficient in your note-taking abilities.
